Associate Director – Job Description

Reports to: Director/CEO

Summary: The Associate Director will support senior team members in originating, structuring, negotiating and closing transactions. The Associate Director is expected to take the lead on behalf of the client in undertaking these tasks, working with the minimum of supervision, but under the overall guidance of senior team members.

Responsibilities:

 Proactively seeking out client origination opportunities including attending networking events, company seminars, making approaches to suitable companies via letter, social media, email and on the telephone. Ensuring these leads are documented on the company CRM system and are followed up in the appropriate way and in a timely manner.

 Support new business development by attending potential client pitches, lead the preparation of the pitch document with the assistance of an Analyst/Senior Analyst and take a lead role in client pitches, where necessary.

 Lead multiple projects and transactions at any given time.

 With the assistance of an Analyst/Senior Analyst, lead all stages of the Bluebox ‘Blue Diamond Programme’ including diagnostic checklists, fact finder, purchaser and financial analysis, workshop, roadmap, Fit4Sale clinics and ongoing reviews.

 With the assistance of, and where appropriate delegate to, an Analyst, leading all aspects of the sale/fund raising process including sending and receiving money laundering documentation, workshops, data room management, information memorandum preparation, purchaser research, contacting purchasers to generate interest and recording results on company CRM system, sending and receiving NDA’s, arranging, preparing fully for and attending purchaser/client meetings, due diligence, sale and purchase agreement, heads of terms and liaising with all parties throughout the process.

 Play a crucial role as the project manager on teams, driving the transaction timetable and ensuring quality on all client deliverables, as well as managing counterparties and other advisors to ensure transaction milestones are met.

 Ensuring company CRM system is up to date at all times.

 Lead, develop and counsel junior colleagues and take an active role in the development of the whole team.

 Communicate on a regular basis with seniors to ensure they are up to date with the status of projects/workstreams.

 Spend time coaching junior staff and ensure they clearly understand the workstreams which they are working on and the reason for completing work/concepts behind it.

 Develop strong working relationships with clients.

 Communicating in a clear and concise manner through different mediums including email, telephone conversations and client meetings.

 Provide feedback to junior staff on a regular basis in relation to their day to day project performance.

 Ability to think through technical issues and develop a solution to issues.

 Consult with senior team members when unsure of the resolution to an issue.

 Develop work products with no re-work that are in a format which is ready to be delivered to a client with no spelling/grammar/formatting errors.

 Use sound commercial judgement and have an ability to generate creative solutions to problems and ‘think on your feet’.

 Manage workstreams from start to finish, take ownership and deal with issues along the way.

 Keep clients up to date in relation to the status of work being performed.

 Delegate work to junior staff, monitor their progress and give them guidance.

 Be flexible in your availability to deal with client issues as and when they come up. Business development/ growth

 Completing origination projects based on current origination scheme.

 Be proactive in driving other origination and managing these projects from start to finish with the support from Analysts.

 Ability to lead potential client pitches.

 Develop relationships with introducers of work (Lawyers/Accountants etc) at the appropriate level.

 Mentor junior members of staff with their origination targets and approaches.
